September to Remember: Compassion That Costs Something

This week kicks off our September to Remember series with a look at compassion, starting with the story of Jesus feeding the 5,000 in Mark 6. Pastor Luke showed how the disciples wanted to send the hungry crowd away, but Jesus told them to feed the people instead, using what little they had. We looked at how compassion starts when we stop looking away from pain, both in others and in ourselves, and how God multiplies what we offer rather than what we've earned. Taste and see becomes more than a song lyric. It's an invitation to receive God's compassion and then carry it to the people around us.
